Super practical tools that I have already incorporated into my everyday life!!! Thank you also for the impulses to think about myself as a "leader".
I'm suddenly observing things from a completely different perspective! It's amazing what a difference it makes!
I can now suddenly categorize my experiences much better and use what I have learned more consciously in my everyday work.
I got to know myself better! In addition, I can now implement new concepts in stakeholder management.
After the training you can ...
- effectively manage an agile product development organization
- consciously develop your leadership style and use it properly
- apply tools for your self-management
- lay the foundation for "High Performing Teams"
- improve the organization's value stream
- create a thorough understanding of your organization's culture
- actively drive cultural change
- adapt organizational structures in a targeted manner
Using practical examples, lively discussions and sharing experiences with other product leaders, you will learn what is behind the term “agile leadership” and why this type of leadership is essential to be successful in digital product development. Find out why post-heroic leadership styles can leverage potential many times over and what you need to change in yourself first. We use case studies to analyse the impact of organizational culture and leadership on product development and look at modern organizational structures.

Who is this CAL-1 training suitable for?
Our CAL-1 training is tailor-made for people with “product responsibility”, whereby the management task should also be understood “laterally”. These are among others
- Product Owner
- Product Manager
- VP Product
- Head of Product
- Development Manager in Product Development
- Team leader
- all persons who have both product responsibility and a management role
- or will have in the future
Our CAL-1 training fulfills all learning objectives of the Scrum Alliance and has also been accredited by the Scrum Alliance. Nevertheless, we have tailored the learning content to this target group and highlighted relevant aspects.
Of course, the training also offers a lot of value for people who have no connection to the product, although the value for this focus group is naturally the highest.
What is included?
You will receive 24 hours of CAL-1 training either live online (6 x 4h) or live on three days incl.
- Optional preparatory or in-depth online training courses
- The accompanying CAL-Online Training for the preparation of individual modules as well as a reference for “review” and thus access to our electronic training materials (handouts, slides, reading material)
- Three months Pro membership in the Mixed Agile Arts® Community with all comprehensive online learning content and benefits.
- Two sessions of professional coaching
- Two-year membership of the Scrum Alliance incl. Certification fees
- Two books
- Printed documents, writing materials and other goodies arrive by post
Are there any prerequisites for participation?
No. You can book our training without any prior knowledge.
As part of the preparation, you will receive access to our online training courses and a recommendation as to what prior knowledge (agility in general) is helpful. It is expected that you either have sufficient knowledge or complete the Agile Foundations training online in advance (approx. 4 hours).
What preparation do I need to do for the CAL training?
Some of the CAL-1 learning objectives are taught in the course of preparation through online content, so that the essential learning content can be developed and discussed in a focused manner on the training days and there is time for questions.
You will receive an overview of the modules and the respective preparations after your registration and a few weeks before the first training day. This includes some videos and reading two case studies.
You should allow around 6 hours in total to prepare for the training, but you can divide this up as you wish.
How do I get access to the online content?
After your confirmed registration (online registration) for the training, you will receive an email from our workflow with access to the Community Platform and detailed instructions on what to prepare.
We will also activate the “Certified Agile Leadership 1” course for you, where you will find the preparation and content for each module.
Do I have to take an exam for the CAL-1 certification?
No. Once you have completed the training and actively participated, we will register you for certification with the Scrum Alliance. You can download your certificate and badge directly on it.
Can I claim a grant for the training?
Yes, there are different funding options depending on the country, federal state and your personal circumstances. Please understand that we cannot provide comprehensive information about the funding landscape in the various countries.
What happens if I cannot keep an appointment at short notice?
If you already know shortly before the training that you cannot participate, please contact our office. We will look for a solution where you can either postpone your participation or send a substitute participant.
If you are unable to attend a follow-up appointment, you have the opportunity to make up for this in one of the next training sessions. In this case, please also contact our office.
Are there any technical requirements for participating in the live online format?
We use the Welo tool for video conferencing in our CAL training. Other tools are “Zoom” and “Miro”. Please understand that we cannot accommodate individual tool requests for public training courses with up to 16 participants. It may be that your company has restrictive guidelines regarding authorized tools or websites, incl. Protocols exist. Please check in advance whether the above-mentioned tools are approved in your professional infrastructure and function adequately. If necessary, please check alternative options for participation (e.g. without VPN, private PC or via mobile phone/tablet). You can check if Zoom works for you here; Welo here and Miro via this link.
As soon as you have registered as a training participant, you will receive all the information you need to participate and familiarize yourself with the tools in good time before the training.
What is cohort-based training?
In this form, small learning groups of approx. 4-6 people (“cohort”) embark on a learning journey together lasting from a week to a few months (“collaborative learning”).
The content prepared and structured by us is worked through in the group, with each person having prepared themselves beforehand.
In the so-called “Facilitated Peer Group Session” (approx. 90 min.), the respective module content is summarized and discussed with the trainers and the learning objectives are reviewed together. Depending on the training, we have either one or two such sessions per module.
What does "live online" mean?
Live online means that the training is “live”, but using teleconferencing and teleworking tools. We make sure that the interaction between you and our trainers, as well as with the other participants, is as close as possible to face-to-face training (i.e. “live” or on-site). This means you can take part from anywhere with a modern Internet connection.
Differentiation from (purely) “online”:
Fully online training courses, such as our Scrum Foundations training, can be completed at your own pace and at your own pace on our learning platform. There are no dates.
Is there an upper limit for the number of participants?
Yes, because you are important to us! To guarantee your learning success, there are no mass events with us!
We limit our training courses to 16 participants. This guarantees us and you that we can maintain our quality standards. We take the time to answer questions and create sufficient space for discussion and reflection.
What is the difference between CAL-ETO and CAL-1?
In March 2024, the Scrum Alliance changed the “Certified Agile Leader®” certification to a linear training sequence, with the CAL-1 now replacing the combination of CAL-E, CAL-T and CAL-O (CAL-E/T/O). The old certifications will be discontinued on 31.03.2024. Further information on “refactoring” can be found on the Scrum Alliance page.
The CAL-1 is therefore the successor to the CAL-E/T, CAL-E/O and CAL-E/T/O. Our CAL-1 is also tailored for product leaders (see question above).
What discounts are available for early bookers?
Book early and save! If you book up to 6 weeks before the start of the training (42 days before the first training day) you will receive a discount of €200 on the list price of the training, and up to 3 weeks (21 days) before the first day the early booking discount is €100 (excl. VAT in each case).
Our website already shows the respective price incl. discount, you will see the discount as “Super Early Bird” (6 weeks) or “Early Bird” (3 weeks), after that “Regular” is displayed. The list price for the public CAL-1 training as “virtual-live” is €2,350 plus VAT. The price displayed during online registration at the time of legally valid registration in the Central European Time Zone (CET/CEST) applies.
